Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed readiness to provide the necessary facilities to host a Super Eagles match at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The Governor made this known while declaring open the 2025 Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) held in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde commended the NFF leadership for its transparency in managing the affairs of the federation and advocated for a single term for sports administrators in Nigeria.
Earlier, the NFF Chairman, Ibrahim Gusau, assured the Governor that the federation would ensure the Nigerian national team plays a match in Oyo State before 2027 to appreciate his efforts in promoting sports.
Gusau also commended the Governor for providing an enabling environment for the event and hosting the Nigeria Under-20 girls' World Cup qualifier match against Rwanda.
In a goodwill message, former NFF President Amaju Pinnick urged sports administrators to support the vision of their leaders.
The event was attended by FIFA observers Hamed Haraz and Lyrique Dupiesis, CAF representative Nadim Magdy, WAFU Executive Director Philippe Tchere, and other football stakeholders in Nigeria.
