Makinde Approves Free Entry for U-20 WWC Qualifier in Ibadan


The Oyo State Government has announced free entry for football fans for the upcoming FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers second leg fixture between Nigeria and Rwanda at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.


Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, revealed this while briefing newsmen on the preparation of the state government for the football match. 


Miss Adegoke said, Governor Seyi Makinde's decision to make the entry free is aimed at promoting football development in the country, particularly women's football.


The Commissioner, assured that proper security measures would be put in place to ensure a smooth and successful event.


Also speaking, Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, Oba James Odediran, expressed optimism that hosting the match would lead to Lekan Salami Stadium being considered for more international games by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Confederation of African Football (CAF), and FIFA.
