Salah to Join Egypt Squad for AFCON December 15

Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, is set to travel for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on December 15, as Egypt prepare for the tournament in Morocco.

Despite not starting in some recent matches, Salah has been praised for his professionalism and support for his teammates.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that Liverpool coach, Arne Slot, said, “Mo Salah will travel for AFCON on December 15.

“Of course, a player is not happy if he’s not starting, but he was very supportive of his teammates. He’s a top professional.”

The 33-year-old forward has struggled to find his best form this season, scoring just four goals in 13 Premier League games so far in the 2025–26 campaign.

Egypt kick off their AFCON campaign against Zimbabwe on December 22, 2025 at Grand Stade d’Agadir, Agadir.

The Pharaohs are drawn in Group B alongside Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Salah’s experience and leadership are expected to be key as Egypt aim for a strong showing in the tournament.
